Project Description
Garage Floor Mats and Concrete Sealers replaced by Epoxy Coatings in the York area!
Installed Location: Seven Valleys (York County), Pennsylvania
This York area garage has seen many attempts to protect and beautify the concrete floor.Originally, the floor was finished with acrylic sealers, which quickly stained and didn’t really help. Next the homeowner tried the floor mats available online and through mail-order catalogs. This solution was ugly, aggrevating and a waste of money. Finally, after considering our coatings for years, the homeowner purchased our decorative chip, garage floor coatings.
In addition to coating the concrete floor, our installers also coated the PVC drain cap (not shown in any of the pictures). Epoxy coatings stick very well to PVC as long as the materials are roughed up with sand paper or by our hand grinders.
System Description: The decorative chip floor coating in this garage is comprised of:
- Base coat: 100% solids, gray epoxy with full broadcast of chips.
- Top coat: Clear Polyaspartic with 46 grit aluminum oxide
System Color:
System Usage: This is a daily use garage with two vehicles driving and parking on the coatings.

Before Stronghold Floors coated this York area garage, the homeowner tried sealers and garage floor mats.
York Area Painter realizes value of Professionally Installed Coatings
This homeowner is also part of a family of professional painters. He had approached us several years prior about our coatings, but decided to try cheaper, Do-It-Yourself solutions. In addition, he had considered applying his own epoxy coatings from a kit, but decided to stop throwing more monies away.
In addition to this home, our crews have coated over one hundred garage and basement floors in the York area, including York city, York Springs, Seven Valleys, Glen Rock, Shrewsbury and Spring Grove. See more of them in our Facebook page.
