Site Readiness Checklist
Is your project area ready for our crews?
Garage and basement floor coatings typically take two days to complete.
Please have contents and vehicles out of your garage before our crew arrives.
Before Installation FAQs
At 10, 6 and 2 days before your floor coatings installation begins, you will receive an email and a text (or call if we don’t know if we have a mobile phone number). The emails will come from your salesperson. You can easily reply to the emails with any questions you may have.
Text messages will come from 717-775-6406, which is an automated system. Please do not reply. Your salesperson will not see the reply.
Our crews are not permitted to move personal items from the project area, as our insurance carrier won't allow this activity. Please don't ask our crews to violate company policy.
The project area must be ready on the first day of coatings installation, prior to our crew's arrival. Please plan accordingly.
STRONGHOLD FLOORS and its employees are not responsible for providing power to any appliances removed from the project area.
Your installation dates will only change if something happens outside of our control (snowstorm, severe thunderstorms, ice storms, etc.). Most weather conditions don't interrupt or impact our work.
If a delay is required, we'll try every means at our disposal (phone call, email, text) to communicate the delay as soon as possible.
We complete 500+ jobs per year and usually have to delay on 2 or 3 jobs in the entire year.
Most weather conditions do not interrupt or impact our work.
Your installation dates will only change if the weather will impact the final results or the project area cannot be protected adequately – such as porches, patios, and other non-enclosed concrete slabs.
As long as our crew can access the area receiving coatings, no one needs to be present for most installations – basements in occupied homes are sometimes an exception.
As we noted in the question above, we don't assign specific arrival times for our crews. If you or your designated person wishes to be on premise during our installation, please plan accordingly.
The customer is responsible for removing all items from the floor receiving coatings. Our crews won't move items from the project area and installation may be delayed – in which case penalties outlined in our contract may apply.
Items on walls and shelves of project area should be removed if the items are sensitive to dust, may hamper our installation, or present a safety concern for our crews. Items left inside the project area should be covered, if they cannot be removed, to protect those items from dust that may become airborne during the surface preparation or from media (chips, quartz, sand) broadcast into the coatings.
STRONGHOLD FLOORS and its employees are not responsible for providing power to any appliances removed from the project area.
While we utilize industrial vacuum systems and shrouded grinding equipment, dust may be present after installation. Soft concrete and/or wavy floors may allow dust to get past our equipment and settle inside the project area.
Contents impacted by dust should be removed or fully protected prior to our crew’s arrival. Our teams are not responsible for removing or protecting items in the coatings area, nor for any damage to project area contents occurring from dust exposure.
During Installation FAQs
Any changes, including additions or deletions to the scope of work must be arranged through your salesperson. Normally, requests must occur at least 3 business days prior to the first day of installation to allow time to procure additional materials.
Even with 3-days’ notice, STRONGHOLD FLOORS may not be able to accommodate additions to the scope of work.
Per our contract, we need all non-STRONGHOLD FLOORS personnel to remain out of the coatings area from the first arrival of our crews until after the required curing time of the coatings.
It's essential for the safety of our crews and everyone else, that all other persons and pets stay out of the coatings area and away from our vehicles and equipment.

Wait at least 72 hours after coatings installation is complete to apply paint in that area.
If paint thinner or other chemicals may come into contact with the new coatings, wait at least 96 hours to ensure the coatings have developed their full chemical resistance.
Open the garage doors the day after installation is complete. If windows are present, open these as well.
If possible, leave everything open for at least 6 hours. Large garages or garages with high ceilings may require a fan to help move enough air out of the garage.
If strong odor still remains after closing the area, additional ventilation is needed.
