Annapolis Volvo Receives Epoxy Floor Coatings
Auto dealership enhanced with epoxy coatings.
Basement Storage Garage Gets Much Needed Epoxy Coating Upgrade
In 2013, our Baltimore operations installed commercial epoxy coatings in the basement garage of Annapolis Volvo. This was the first of three projects completed for this Maryland auto dealership.
While mainly used for storage of vehicles, the salespersons would sometimes take prospects and customers down to the basement to view additional stock. Wanting to show off their vehicles in the best fashion, the ownership decided it was time for a new floor finish. They contacted and worked with Dave, our Maryland Sales Manager, to learn about the different options in commercial coatings and selected our decorative chip coatings – using our Adams 1/4'' decorative chip blend.
Jason and his crews used our planetary grinders to prepare the designated area. Using the metal bonded diamond tooling, they ground the concrete surface to a CSP 2 surface profile. All cracks and surface imperfections in the area were repaired using our epoxy crack fillers.
A self-priming base coat of 100% solids, pigmented epoxy was applied and broadcast to saturation with the Adams 1/4″ blend of acrylic chips. The following day, after scraping and vacuuming the excess chips, the crews applied our high-gloss, polyaspartic urethane. This clear, hybrid polymer hardens extremely fast and allowed Annapolis Volvo to return the garage to service the next day.
