Bayside Maryland Garage Upgrades Failing DIY Floor Paint

Bayside Garage Upgrades Old Floor Paint
This garage in the Baltimore area received a decorative chip, epoxy floor coating by STRONGHOLD FLOORS. The garage was quite cluttered and messy during the initial sales meeting, when our territory manager quoted the homeowner. After our coatings were installed, the garage was transformed.
The concrete was in pretty good shape, but the old floor paint was chipping and didn't match the area at all. A dock leading to the Chesapeake Bay was a thirty second walk away, complete with multiple sail boats and seagulls flying around. The current red floor paint just didn't mesh one bit. The homeowner chose our Lycoming blend of decorative chips. The grey, black, white, and blue hues of the blend complimented the bayside view wonderfully.
The Installation
Because the concrete was in good shape to begin with, our Maryland team only needed 1.5 days to complete this job (our typical timeframe for most residential garage floor coatings). The first day involved preparing the concrete by diamond grinding until a concrete surface profile of two was achieved. After vacuuming any remaining dust, a base coat of medium gray epoxy was applied. Once the floor was coated, our Lycoming 1/4'' decorative chip blend was broadcast over the entire floor.
On the following day, our team first vacuumed and scraped any remaining chips that weren't bonded with the base coat. A top coat of clear, polyaspartic polyurea was then applied, along with 46 grit aluminum for traction. See the results below!
