Garage Floor in Harrisburg Coated with Epoxy
This floor was installed back in October 2011. The owner called with a maintenance question, so we took the opportunity to revisit the floor and get these pictures (taken in June 2013). We so rarely get the opportunity to revisit our work unless the homeowner has us back out for additional projects. When this homeowner called asking how to clean off rust stains, I offered to come out and assist on site.
This oversized, two-car garage floor was coated back in October of 2011. The homeowners utilize the garage in a fashion similar to most of our residential customers. On a daily basis, they park two cars in it and use the garage as the main entrance to their home. They also keep a refrigerator, lawnmower, and bikes in the garage.
As with many homeowners, when someone is coming to visit, they clean up. They had already mopped up the floor before I arrived, so the coatings were as shiny as the day they were installed. We discussed how to remove the rust (see 12 Tips for Use & Care of Your Coatings).
Coatings System Information
This approximately 25 mil decorative chip coating is comprised of:
- Base coat: 100% solids, pigmented epoxy with full broadcast of decorative chips.
- 1st Top coat: 97+/- % solids, clear polyaspartic.
- System color: Chester 1/4'' decorative chip.
