Stone Flake Blend Used in this Lancaster Garage

This three car, Lancaster garage needed some help with its floor. Over the years, the concrete had been stained by oil, grass, and rust. The control joints were unsightly. The concrete’s surface had worn in some areas and was beginning to show more damage from road salts and tire abrasion.

The decorative chip floor coating in this garage is comprised of:

  • Base coat: 100% solids, Phaser Tan epoxy with full broadcast of stone blend flakes.
  • Top coat: Clear Polyaspartic with 46 grit aluminum oxide.

This garage had a plain, unsealed concrete floor before our coatings were applied. Our Mechanicsburg-based crew prepared the floor by mechanical diamond grinding. They cleaned and filled the zip strip control joints with a thixotropic, epoxy paste. Base coat with flakes was applied on the first day of installation.

Our Pennsylvania crew returned the following morning to apply the polyaspartic, thick, and clear top coat, which seals and protects the floor system.

NOTE: Due to inconsistency in the Stone Flakes, STRONGHOLD FLOORS no longer offers these in residential garages.
