Gainesville, VA Maintenance Facility Coated with Decorative Quartz
Golf club maintenance facility floor upgraded.
Decorative Quartz Floor Coatings in Maintenance Facility
This maintenance facility, located in Gainesville, VA, services an absolutely massive golf course. The golf club, situated on the banks of Lake Manassas, is simply gorgeous. The foliage blends with the beautiful, large homes. It's obvious how much care and pride the groundskeepers put into the course. It's only fitting that the maintenance facility gets a top of the line floor coating while servicing a top of the line golf course.
Quartz Coatings Provide Concrete Reinforcement
The maintenance facility needed a commercial floor coating that could withstand heavy vehicles, dropped tools, and spilled chemicals. While we typically would recommend a sand-reinforced, solid color epoxy coating, this customer wanted a more decorative finish to their concrete.
The customer chose our QB-109 blend (pictured below) of commercial decorative quartz on medium gray epoxy. Quartz coatings offer similar benefits as typical sand-reinforced coatings, but give a more aesthetically pleasing, decorative finish.
Quartz coatings installations typically follow the same four day process as a sand-reinforced coating. On day one, a primer coat is applied to the prepared concrete. On day two, after repairing any cracks or spalling that show through the primer coat, the medium gray epoxy base coat is applied. Decorative quartz is then broadcast to refusal over the coatings.
On day three, any remaining quartz not bonded to the coating is removed, and the first clear, epoxy top coat is applied. On day four, the second clear top coat is applied.
Below are pictures from days two and three of the process. STRONGHOLD FLOORS completed all of the quartz coatings in two four day segments, allowing the customer to keep most of their items inside while we coated and minimize impact to their operations.
